‘If There’s One Favourite CM Face…’ Aaditya Thackeray Weighs In On ‘Most Important’ Maharashtra Election

As Maharashtra heads toward a crucial election, political dynamics are heating up. Aaditya Thackeray, former Maharashtra minister and a prominent leader from the Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction, has voiced strong support for his father and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray as the best candidate to lead Maharashtra. In a recent interview, Aaditya emphasized that Uddhav’s leadership experience and people-centered approach make him the favored candidate among the state’s residents, especially given his track record during the COVID-19 pandemic and infrastructure projects initiated under his tenure.

1. Uddhav Thackeray as the People’s Choice

Aaditya underscored that, based on recent surveys, the people of Maharashtra favor Uddhav Thackeray for the Chief Minister’s position. Citing the former CM’s governance during critical times, Aaditya remarked, “People of Maharashtra want Uddhav Thackeray as Chief Minister.” He highlighted Uddhav’s focus on public welfare and inclusivity, contrasting it with the BJP-Shinde administration’s approach.

2. Allegations Against the BJP-Shinde Government

Aaditya criticized the current BJP-Shinde government, accusing it of prioritizing private interests over public welfare. He claimed that questionable land allocations, like prime Mumbai land being given to private companies, have raised serious concerns. The alleged “Rs 6,080 crore road scam” and other development missteps, according to Aaditya, have hurt Maharashtra’s financial stability.

3. Focus on Job Creation and Industrial Retention

One of Aaditya’s primary goals, if the MVA comes into power, would be job creation and retaining industries within Maharashtra. He warned that Maharashtra’s industrial landscape is at risk, as projects and jobs are being shifted to Gujarat, leaving the state’s youth with fewer opportunities. Aaditya pledged a review of all contracts awarded by the current administration, with an aim to reverse decisions that he argues compromised the state’s welfare.

4. A Fight for the People and Ideals of Maharashtra

According to Aaditya, this election is a defining moment for Maharashtra, and the Shiv Sena UBT is determined to uphold the state’s ethos. He believes Maharashtra’s tradition of inclusivity and public welfare is at stake, as divisive politics threaten to erode these values. He also promised to tackle projects that have been neglected under the current government, including critical urban planning and infrastructure projects such as slum rehabilitation.

5. The Shiv Sena UBT and Coalition Dynamics

Aaditya acknowledged the importance of coalition support from the Congress and NCP, which has remained strong since the Maha Vikas Aghadi’s inception. He reassured voters that any seat-sharing disagreements are part of healthy alliance dynamics and expressed confidence in resolving these issues.

6. A Message for the Youth and Industrial Future

Aaditya’s vision for Maharashtra includes reversing industrial exodus and securing jobs for the state’s youth without compromising transparency. He sent a clear message to those considering alliances with the BJP: aligning with the BJP means accepting a future where Maharashtra loses industries to other states.

This election, which Aaditya calls “the most important” for Maharashtra, is about preserving the state’s integrity and public welfare. As Maharashtra stands on the brink of a pivotal decision, Aaditya Thackeray’s message reflects a call for leadership that prioritizes people over power and the state’s well-being over political gain.
