Noida: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a new initiative aimed at promoting greenery and making the life of newborns memorable. Babies born during the Forest Festival week from July 1 to July 7 will be gifted a Green Gold Certificate and a plant. The plant and certificate will be provided at the place of birth. This facility will be available for infants born in the state’s district hospitals, Community Health Centers (CHC), Primary Health Centers (PHC), and other government hospitals. The Forest Department will implement this scheme in collaboration with the Health Department.
Message of Greenery and ResponsibilityThe aim of this scheme is not just to increase greenery, but also to inspire the families of newborns to engage in planting and protecting saplings. This plant will grow alongside the infant, symbolizing their development and prosperity.Promoting Public Participation in the Plantation CampaignAccording to Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sunil Chaudhary, the government is focusing on enhancing public participation in the Plantation Campaign-2025. Under this scheme, saplings of timber species such as Teak and Shisham will be provided.
Additionally, families will be informed on where and how to plant them.What is the Green Gold Certificate?The Green Gold Certificate is a special certificate issued by the Forest Department in the name of the newborn. Its purpose is to raise awareness among parents about the care and protection of the sapling given along with the child.This scheme is not only a positive step towards environmental protection but also the beginning of gifting greenery and responsibility to a generation.
