The signing of Argentine sensation Aaron Anselmino to Premier League team Chelsea is reportedly close to completion. Talks over Anselmino’s signing are reportedly advanced between Boca Juniors and the London giants, according to an Athletic report.
The teenager will join Chelsea for an estimated sum of £17 million, plus add-ons, the report continued. Anselmino’s transfer status was recently updated, allegedly by TyC Sports, who stated that Chelsea had signed the 19-year-old. Later on, the English team will return the loan to his previous team.
According to the report, Anselmino may resign from Boca Juniors after six months, although he is expected to remain there for another year. Anselmino is anticipated to sign a six-year deal with the Blues, and it is said that Chelsea will cover a cost of approximately $18 million (£14 million).
According to several sources, Anselmino would eventually sign a loan agreement to return to Strasbourg, Chelsea’s sister club, or Boca Juniors. Juan Roman Riquelme, the president of Boca Juniors, has previously discussed Anselmino’s future in detail. According to GOAL, Riquelme told ESPN at the beginning of the season that “with the growth, the head he has, and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer.”
Anselmino can play in midfield as well as defence, and he has made ten senior appearances with Boca Juniors thus far. Last summer, he made his debut for the Argentine squad’s first team. He reportedly joined the Boca Juniors academy at the age of twelve, according to Goal.
At the age of 18, Anselmino made his debut for Argentine coach Jorge Almiron. In June of last year, during an Argentina Primera Division match against Lanus, the youthful defender was substituted in at halftime. His performance in the game made him more well-known to the media.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a midfielder for Leicester City, was recently signed by Chelsea for a reported fee of £30 million. Dewsbury-Hall agreed to a five-year contract with Chelsea that included a one-year option.
