Noida: The increasing incidence of cervical cancer among women is a serious concern, leading to thousands of deaths every year across the country. Highlighting the urgency of the issue, the Gautam Buddh Nagar District President of Mahila Unnati Sanstha emphasised the need for preventive action.
In a significant move, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Gautam Buddh Nagar District Administration and the Government Mint in Noida to provide free cervical cancer (HPV) vaccinations to school-going girls aged 9 to 20 years. The initiative will be implemented in government schools across the district.
The responsibility of spreading awareness about this vaccination program has been entrusted to Mahila Unnati Sanstha, a social organisation working for women’s welfare. This collaboration is seen as a valuable opportunity for the organisation to contribute meaningfully to public health efforts.
To kickstart the campaign, the organisation will launch an awareness drive on Monday at the Government ITI in Badalpur village, Gautam Buddh Nagar. The program will educate female students about the risks of cervical cancer and encourage them to get vaccinated.
Several prominent members of the organisation, including Ankita Rajput (President, Greater Noida West), Rani Devi (Coordinator), Reena Raj (Vice President), and other office-bearers, were present at the event.
