Noida: The power department has rolled out a comprehensive plan to strengthen electricity infrastructure at Century Apartments in Sector 100, following long-pending demands raised by the society’s Apartment Owners Association (AOA).

The initiatives include laying an additional supply line, repairing old panels, cables and feeder boxes, as well as installing smart meters across the complex. A new high-capacity cable line will also be laid from the Sector 100 substation to Sector 45 in collaboration with the Noida Authority.

There was a meeting with the power department officials in the society complex. Several key decisions were made, including giving an additional supply line to the society from the Voda temple in the area for a better power supply. Also, the process of laying a separate line from the Sector 100 substation to Sector 45 will start soon.

Century Apartments, which has 80 towers with three floors each and a total of 320 housing units, has often struggled with frequent outages and cable faults, especially during thunderstorms and peak summer months. Sector 100 and neighboring Sector 99 together house over 15,000 residents, many of whom have long complained of unreliable power supply and inadequate infrastructure.

The meeting to finalize the measures was attended by AOA treasurer Omveer Singh, senior member VK Tamta, senior officials from the power department, and representatives from the smart meter team, along with local linemen.

Residents hope the new steps will significantly improve power reliability in the area and bring relief ahead of the upcoming festive and winter season.
