Greater Noida : The residents of Sector Beta-1 in Greater Noida are grappling with a severe sewer overflow crisis that has persisted for the past six to seven months. Overflowing sewage water has flooded several roads in the area, and multiple sewer lines have collapsed — yet the problem remains unresolved.

Despite repeated complaints, no concrete action has been taken by the Greater Noida Authority. Residents allege that ACEO Prerna Singh has not visited the area to inspect the situation. Furthermore, key officials from the sewer department — Senior Manager A.P. Verma, Manager Sandhya Singh, Assistant Manager Naveen Saxena, and Technical Officer Lalit — have reportedly failed to take field-level action.

Harendra Bhati, a member of the Active Citizen Team, expressed concern over the deteriorating civic condition.

The current officials seem to lack technical knowledge and commitment to solving the issue. Previously, the sewer department was under Prabhat Shankar, who personally ensured on-ground solutions whenever a complaint arose. But now, Beta-1 residents are left to suffer.

He urged the authorities to assign the sewer department to individuals who are both knowledgeable and proactive in resolving ground-level issues. Residents have demanded immediate intervention and on-site inspection to restore normalcy in the sector.
