Beta-1 : RWA cracks down on illegal garbage dumping, Shopkeepers fined

Greater Noida: In an effort to maintain cleanliness and improve waste management, the Residents Welfare Association (RWA) of Sector Beta-1 took action against shopkeepers allegedly dumping garbage and scrap in the sector’s residential areas.

According to the RWA, several shopkeepers from the adjoining Rampur Jagir Market were found disposing of waste and other discarded materials within the internal areas of Sector Beta-1, raising sanitation concerns for residents.

Acting on the complaints, Sector Beta-1 RWA General Secretary Harinder Bhati coordinated with the Health Department of the Greater Noida Authority. Sanitary Inspector Sanjeev Bidhuri and his team conducted an inspection in the area and identified the violators.

During the drive, challans were issued to the concerned shopkeepers for improper waste disposal. The officials also warned them against repeating such violations and urged them to follow proper waste management practices in the future.

To ensure long-term compliance, awareness was created among the shopkeepers regarding cleanliness and responsible garbage disposal. During the inspection, it was also found that some establishments did not have dustbins on their premises. The authorities ensured that dustbins were placed at such shops to facilitate proper collection and disposal of waste.

RWA General Secretary Harendra Bhati said that maintaining cleanliness in residential areas is a collective responsibility and strict action will continue against those found violating sanitation norms.

Residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that regular monitoring will help keep the sector clean and free from illegal dumping.
