Greater Noida: Greater Noida’s much-publicised beautification initiative has suffered a major setback as decorative pots placed across the city are now found lying neglected in roadside drains. Under the direction of the Greater Noida Authority CEO, the Horticulture Department had earlier installed these pots along footpaths and at major roundabouts to enhance the city’s visual appeal.

However, the current condition of these installations paints a disappointing picture. Many pots have toppled into drains, while others are either damaged or displaced. The plants inside them, once meant to add greenery to the urban landscape, have dried up due to a lack of regular watering and maintenance.
Residents say the initiative, which could have significantly improved the city’s aesthetics, has instead turned into an example of administrative negligence. Public funds spent on the project are going to waste and the very purpose of the beautification drive stands defeated.
City residents now demand immediate action from the Authority to restore the pots, revive the plantation, and ensure routine monitoring so that Greater Noida’s planned infrastructure does not fall victim to poor upkeep.
