Greater Noida West: Residents of the premium residential society ATS Rhapsody are growing increasingly concerned over recurring lift malfunctions and inadequate security measures. The high-end project, which attracted homebuyers with promises of luxury and safety, is now facing backlash from its own residents due to serious maintenance and surveillance lapses.

Lift Malfunctions Trigger Alarm

Several residents reported that lifts in Tower 2 and Tower 5 have frequently malfunctioned, sometimes getting stuck for up to 30 minutes. In a recent incident, a lift panel was found hanging, almost about to fell down on head of anyone, raising fresh concerns about safety. Residents allege that the lifts are either not properly inspected or not registered.

We consider lifts to be the heart of any high-rise society. These frequent issues are not just inconvenient, they’re dangerous.

Despite multiple complaints, the problem persists. Many are now questioning the quality and accountability of the maintenance team.

Security Woes: Tyres Being Punctured, CCTV Insufficient

Adding to the residents’ distress is a growing issue of intentional tyre puncturing in the society’s parking areas. According to residents, someone has been puncturing tyres in such a way that repair is impossible and replacement becomes the only option—causing significant financial burden.

Residents claim there are not enough CCTV cameras installed in the society to monitor such activities. They are demanding urgent improvements in surveillance systems.

Maintenance Head Denies Allegations

When contacted, Satyam Shukla, the head of maintenance, denied the allegations. He explained:

“This is a newly constructed site, and work is still ongoing. Wooden ply has been installed inside lifts to prevent scratches during movement of goods. All safety protocols are being followed, and the lifts are within the warranty period.”

Satyam Shukla, Head Maintaince, ATS

When questioned specifically about the panel about to fall, Shukla stated that the issue was minor and caused due to improper use by residents.

Sometimes during cleaning or when someone carries an oversized item, the lift’s panel may open slightly—just like a car bonnet. It does not pose any danger. The issue was resolved within 20 minutes.

Satyam Shukla, Head Maintainence, ATS

He also mentioned that the society has round-the-clock lift maintenance support available.

Apartment Times’ Response

Despite Shukla’s assurances, residents remain unconvinced, particularly due to the photographic evidence of the panel mishap. Apartment Times posed a final question to the maintenance head: Even if the lift is under warranty, is the human body covered under warranty too?”

This question remains unanswered for now.

With over 120 families currently living in the society, residents are urging ATS management to take swift and transparent action to ensure basic safety and restore faith in the brand.
