‘The colony is ignored despite its size and population’

According to Rajit Khanna, Former RWA President the colony spans nearly 102 acres and is home to hundreds of families. However, they allege that the area has been completely overlooked by the authority responsible for civic maintenance.

The situation has worsened over the years, with basic infrastructure collapsing due to a lack of upkeep and official intervention.

Roads, sewer overflow and garbage piles worsen living conditions

Residents have pointed out multiple civic issues affecting daily life in the colony. These include:

  • Broken or missing roads in several parts of the area
  • Non-functional streetlights
  • Sewer water is overflowing onto roads
  • Garbage heaps at multiple locations
  • Lack of sanitation and cleaning services
  • Poorly maintained parks
  • Construction materials dumped on roads and vacant plots

Residents claim these issues have turned the colony into an extremely unhygienic and unsafe living environment.

Residents say conditions are worse than those in nearby informal settlements

As per the information received, the situation in the colony has deteriorated to the point where it is now worse than nearby informal settlements.

In simple words, residents are forced to live in hell-like conditions. This sector is in dire need of support and attention of authorities to provide basic civic services.

A decade-long delay in the maintenance takeover alleged

Residents also claim that under the original development agreement, the authority was supposed to take over maintenance of the colony within one year of project completion. However, they allege that the takeover has still not taken place even after more than a decade.

Because of this delay, infrastructure in the area has deteriorated significantly over time.

Residents seek intervention from civic authorities

Residents have urged civic officials and the associations to intervene and ensure that the Greater Noida Authority provides essential infrastructure and maintenance services in the colony.

They hope that collective action will help restore basic civic facilities and improve living conditions for families residing in the area.
