Noida: Around 390 residents of Amrapali Zodiac, Sector 120, gathered at Gate No. 1 at 7 PM on Saturday to participate in a peaceful candle march demanding immediate action against the rising population of stray dogs inside the society premises. Children, senior citizens, women and youth turned up in large numbers, reflecting the growing frustration within the community.

Stray dog population surges from 14 to 85
Residents expressed strong resentment over the alarming increase in stray dogs inside the society, from 14 in January 2023 to 85 at present. Incidents of dog bites and dogs chasing residents have reportedly risen sharply, causing fear and inconvenience, especially for children and the elderly.
Attempt to disrupt the march fails
During the march, one individual allegedly attempted to disrupt the peaceful demonstration by feeding stray dogs. However, residents maintained calm and completed the march as planned.
Residents Submit Memorandum to AOA
Residents handed over a written memorandum to the AOA, demanding:
- Restoration and re-approval of the stray dog feeding point outside the society that was originally established by the former association AZSWA on June 15, 2021.
- A complete ban on feeding stray dogs inside the society premises.
- A minimum penalty of ₹20,000 is imposed on anyone found feeding dogs inside the residential blocks.
- Strict action against tenants violating the rule, including coordination with landlords to vacate such tenants.
Residents clearly conveyed that the AOA must act with honest intent and take firm measures within a week.
AOA Promises Action; Residents Warn of Police Complaint
The AOA president assured residents of prompt action on the issue. However, residents have warned that if sincere efforts are not taken immediately, they will conduct a march to Police Station 113 and file an FIR against the AOA for allegedly violating Supreme Court guidelines by allowing dog feeding inside the society.
