Noida : Residents of Amrapali River View staged a peaceful protest highlighting the acute shortage of covered parking within the society. A large number of homebuyers participated in the demonstration, stating that the issue is now directly affecting their daily lives and basic convenience.

Court receiver’s directions yet to be implemented

According to residents, the Court Receiver (CR) had issued written directions last year to NBCC, instructing the agency to construct an additional podium above the existing one. As per the proposal:

However, residents allege that no concrete progress has been made so far and construction work has not commenced, raising concerns over compliance with the Court Receiver’s instructions.

Podium area marked as open parking

Adding to the residents’ concerns, the existing podium area, which was earlier proposed for parks and lifestyle amenities, is reportedly being designated as open parking.

This deviates from the original planning commitments and undermines promised infrastructure standards.

Rohit Sisodiya

We purchased our homes with the assurance of structured planning and promised amenities. Today we are forced to park in open areas without shade or security. This is not what was committed to us.

Shekhar Sharma

The Court Receiver clearly instructed that an additional podium be constructed with covered parking at ground level and a green park on the first floor. Why has there been no visible progress for months?

Parking congestion is leading to daily disputes among residents. Emergency vehicle movement is also getting affected, which raises serious safety concerns.

Multiple civic and safety concerns raised

Beyond the parking crisis, residents highlighted several other pressing issues within the society:

  • Absence of adequate green areas
  • Deficiencies in fire safety systems
  • Water ingress inside all elevators
  • Persistent problems with the Sewage Treatment Plant

Residents claim that the malfunctioning STP has significantly deteriorated living conditions, making daily life increasingly difficult.

Appeal to the Supreme Court

The protesting residents have appealed to the Supreme Court of India to intervene in the matter. They have sought enforcement of the Court Receiver’s directives and protection of thousands of homebuyers’ interests.

They have also demanded:

  • Immediate commencement of covered parking construction
  • Restoration of promised amenities
  • A clear and time-bound implementation roadmap

Residents warned that their peaceful and democratic protest will continue until concrete action is taken and long-pending commitments are fulfilled.
