Aastha Greens: AC caught fire in a flat when a kid and infant were alone in the room, life was saved miraculously

Greater Noida West: The indoor unit of an air conditioner (AC) suddenly caught fire in a flat in Aastha Greens Society in Greater Noida West on Wednesday morning. The incident happened when two young girls were present in the house.

At the time of the fire, the eight-year-old girl was playing with her four-month-old sister in the room. As soon as a loud sound and smoke started coming out of the AC, the girl showed bravery and picked up her younger sister in her lap and immediately ran outside.

No help received

The mother of the girls was in another room at that time. She immediately shared the information about the incident on the society’s social media group and informed the maintenance team. But it is alleged that help was not received on time.

A sprinkler system was installed in the flat for safety, but it did not activate despite the fire. This caused a delay in extinguishing the fire and the AC was completely burnt.

Builder’s negligence as they came late for help

After getting information about the incident, some employees from the builder reached the spot, but by then the AC had burned and damaged even the cupboard. The victim’s family has accused the maintenance management of negligence.
