Delhi is preparing for heavy crowds and traffic congestion as Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh brings his Aura India Tour 2026 to Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium on Friday, October 30. With around 70,000 spectators expected, the Delhi Traffic Police has announced restrictions and diversions on more than 11 roads in the surrounding areas from 1 pm until midnight.

Concertgoers have been advised to use the Delhi Metro instead of private vehicles, while motorists travelling through south Delhi have been asked to avoid the affected stretches and plan their journeys in advance. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has also arranged extended operating hours and additional train services to help spectators reach the venue and return home after the event.

Diljit Dosanjh Concert: Delhi Traffic Restrictions From 1 PM To Midnight

Traffic restrictions and diversions will remain in force around JLN Stadium between 1 pm and 12 midnight. The traffic police has identified eight diversion points to regulate vehicle movement, with additional restrictions possible depending on congestion.

The following roads and stretches are likely to experience traffic disruption:

  • Bhishma Pitamah Marg
  • Lodhi Road
  • Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, particularly the stretch between Defence Colony Flyover and Lodhi Colony Flyover
  • Arch Bishop Makarios Marg
  • Fourth Avenue Road and Fifth Avenue Road
  • Internal roads around the CGO Complex
  • Roads surrounding JLN Stadium
  • Barapullah Flyover, particularly the stretch between the INA side and Jangpura Metro Station Gate No. 2
  • Dayal Singh College Road
  • Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Marg
  • Internal roads of Lodhi Colony

Motorists approaching the stadium may encounter restrictions near key intersections, including the Lodhi Road-Dayal Singh College Road junction and roads leading towards the stadium gates. Traffic personnel will regulate movement and guide vehicles towards alternative routes. Two additional diversion points may also be activated if the situation requires.

Commuters who do not need to visit the stadium area are advised to take alternative routes and avoid the surrounding roads during the restriction period.

Diljit Dosanjh Concert: Delhi Metro Services Extended Till Midnight

With a large audience expected at the stadium, DMRC has extended Metro services across its network until midnight on October 30. The extension applies to all Metro lines except the Airport Express Line. Gurugram’s Rapid Metro services will continue to operate according to their regular schedule.

Additional train trips will be run across the network, while standby trains will be kept ready to manage any unexpected surge in passenger numbers, particularly after the concert ends.

Extra Metro personnel, customer service staff and customer facilitation agents will be deployed at JLN Stadium station and important interchange stations to guide passengers and regulate movement. Additional security personnel and screening arrangements will also be put in place at the stadium station.

The deadline for purchasing QR tickets through the Delhi Metro Sarthi mobile application has also been extended by an hour in view of the revised service timings.

Which Metro Station Should You Use For JLN Stadium?

Concertgoers have been encouraged to use the Metro to avoid road congestion and parking difficulties.

Those travelling on the Violet Line can get off at either:

  • JLN Stadium Metro Station
  • Jangpura Metro Station

Passengers using the Yellow Line can alight at:

  • INA Metro Station
  • Jor Bagh Metro Station

JLN Stadium station on the Violet Line is the nearest Metro station to the concert venue. Passengers should check the recommended walking routes and stadium gate access before beginning their journey.

No Public Parking At JLN Stadium: Check Cab And Auto Drop-Off Points

There will be no general parking facility for private vehicles in the vicinity of JLN Stadium. Concertgoers are therefore advised not to drive directly to the venue.

Cab, auto-rickshaw and app-based taxi users will have to use the designated pick-up and drop-off locations:

  • Arch Bishop Makarios Marg
  • Lal Masjid, Pragati Vihar
  • Kushak Nala Bus Depot red light

The designated locations are intended to prevent vehicles from stopping randomly near the stadium and obstructing traffic. Attendees should follow the directions issued by traffic personnel and use the appropriate point for their stadium gate.

Limited parking arrangements have been made for special invitees at Sunehri Pula Bus Depot and Dayal Singh College. These facilities are not general public parking areas.

Delhi Traffic Police Advisory: What Should Commuters Keep In Mind?

The traffic police has asked motorists to avoid unnecessary travel through the affected roads during the restriction period. Those who need to travel through the area should allow additional time and follow the directions of personnel deployed at intersections and diversion points.

Motorists have also been advised:

  • Do not park or stop vehicles along roads near the stadium.
  • Follow designated diversion routes and traffic signs.
  • Use public transport, preferably the Delhi Metro, to reach the venue.
  • Follow the designated cab and auto pick-up and drop-off arrangements.
  • Avoid entering restricted stretches unless permitted by traffic personnel.
  • Give way to ambulances and vehicles responding to medical emergencies, which will receive priority movement.

The police may introduce further diversions at two additional locations depending on the volume of traffic and crowd movement.

Delhi Traffic Police Helpline Numbers

Commuters who need assistance or want to report traffic-related issues can contact the Delhi Traffic Police through the following helpline numbers:

  • Traffic helpline: 1095
  • Emergency assistance: 112
  • Additional traffic helpline: 011-25844444

With thousands of fans expected at JLN Stadium, the traffic restrictions and extended Metro services are aimed at managing congestion before and after the concert. Residents travelling through south Delhi on Friday should check traffic updates, avoid the stadium area where possible and plan their journeys around the restrictions.
