The opening episode depicted Narad Muni developing pride in his devotion and seeking Lord Vishnu’s help to obtain a handsome appearance so that he could marry Princess Vishwamohini. Lord Vishnu used his divine powers to create a magical city and gave Narad a monkey-like appearance instead. When Princess Vishwamohini chose Lord Vishnu during the swayamvar, Narad felt humiliated and cursed the Lord.
The day’s performances also portrayed Ravana’s atrocities against sages and ascetics in Lanka. The episode concluded with Lord Shiva narrating the story of Lord Ram to Goddess Parvati.

Ram Janmotsav and Bhajan Jamming Mark the Second Day
On October 12, the second day of the festival featured the birth of Lord Ram, childhood episodes and a devotional bhajan jamming programme by singer Gagan Rathore and his troupe.
The day’s Ramleela opened with the gods approaching Lord Vishnu to seek relief from the atrocities committed by Ravana and other demons. The performance then depicted King Dasharath seeking guidance from Guru Vashishtha because he had no children. Following the sage’s advice, a Putrakameshti Yajna was performed under the guidance of Shringi Rishi.
Agni Dev appeared from the sacrificial fire and presented sacred kheer, which King Dasharath distributed among his three queens, Kaushalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra. The queens subsequently gave birth to Lord Ram and his three brothers, Bharat, Lakshman and Shatrughna.
The birth of Lord Ram brought celebrations to Ayodhya, with artists presenting traditional congratulatory songs depicting the joy of the royal family and the people.
Another scene portrayed Lord Shiva visiting the infant Lord Ram in the guise of a yogi. Guru Vashishtha subsequently performed the naming ceremony, followed by the brothers’ departure for their education at his ashram.
The story then moved to Sage Vishwamitra’s visit to King Dasharath’s court. He sought Lord Ram and Lakshman’s assistance in protecting his yajna from demons. After Guru Vashishtha advised the king to agree, the two princes accompanied Vishwamitra.
During the journey, Tadaka, Marich and Subahu attacked the sage and the princes. Lord Ram killed Tadaka and Subahu and sent Marich flying towards the southern seashore.
