Noida: Concerns over the deteriorating condition of roads across Noida have prompted a demand for immediate repair, regular maintenance and reconstruction of damaged stretches. A representation submitted to the Noida Development Authority has highlighted potholes and damaged road surfaces at several locations, citing inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians as well as safety concerns.
The representation addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida Development Authority, Sector 6, stated that several major and internal roads in the city are in need of repair. It pointed out that damaged roads and potholes are making commuting difficult for vehicle users and pedestrians and could increase the risk of accidents.
The representation also raised concerns over the focus on new projects and tenders while existing roads require regular maintenance and timely repairs. It said several roads have remained damaged without adequate repair or rehabilitation.
The letter urged the authority to conduct a comprehensive inspection of major and internal roads across Noida and identify stretches requiring immediate intervention. It requested that damaged roads be repaired on a priority basis and that reconstruction be undertaken wherever necessary.
It also called for regular inspections and a structured maintenance mechanism so that road damage can be identified and addressed before it becomes more severe. The representation stressed that timely action on damaged roads is important from the perspective of public safety and requested the Noida Development Authority to take necessary steps at the earliest.
