Mumbai: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has tested positive for swine flu (H1N1), according to multiple reports. The actor had been unwell for the past few days after travelling for work, including a recent trip to Ranchi, and underwent medical testing after returning to Mumbai. His test results reportedly confirmed the infection.

Doctors have advised Hashmi to take adequate rest and follow necessary precautions while recovering. The actor has also postponed his scheduled Bengaluru performance due to his health.

Hashmi informed fans that he was unwell and would not be able to attend his scheduled show in Bengaluru. He apologised to fans and said the event had been postponed rather than cancelled.

The Bengaluru show, which was scheduled for August 29, has now been shifted to September 12. Existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled event.

Health setback amid Awarapan 2 success

The health update comes at a time when Hashmi is enjoying renewed attention following the strong performance of Awarapan 2 at the box office.

The sequel to his 2007 film Awarapan has received a strong response from audiences and has reportedly crossed the ₹200 crore mark globally. Hashmi has been actively promoting the film and recently interacted with fans at a Mumbai screening alongside co-star Disha Patani.

Actor currently recovering

Reports indicate that Hashmi is currently recovering and has been advised to prioritise rest. While the actor’s Instagram update confirmed that he was unwell, his post did not itself disclose the H1N1 diagnosis. The diagnosis has been reported by media outlets citing sources familiar with his health.
