Greater Noida West: Thousands of residents of Shri Radha Sky Gardens were left struggling after the society’s power supply was disrupted from around 3 am, with residents alleging serious negligence by the builder and maintenance agency.

According to the maintenance team, the disruption occurred after a fault developed in the Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB), preventing the restoration of the NPCL power supply. Under such circumstances, residents say the society should have had sufficient DG backup to ensure uninterrupted electricity.

However, inadequate backup capacity reportedly left a large number of residents facing repeated power cuts and disruptions throughout the day.

Fourth DG Set Yet To Be Commissioned

Residents have raised particular concern over the society’s fourth DG set, which they claim was purchased several months ago but has still not been commissioned.

Residents allege that had the additional DG set been made operational on time, it could have significantly reduced the impact of the current power crisis and provided adequate backup during the NPCL outage.

Essential Services Affected

According to residents, the situation throughout the day included:

  • Power supply repeatedly going on and off since around 3 am
  • Frequent tripping in several towers
  • Existing DG sets struggling to handle the required load
  • Disruptions to lifts and water supply
  • Difficulties for children, senior citizens, patients and residents working from home

The prolonged disruption has caused considerable inconvenience to residents, particularly those dependent on lifts and other essential services.

Residents Demand Permanent Solution

Residents say the current situation is not an isolated incident. They claim complaints regarding the society’s power infrastructure, backup capacity and electrical systems have been raised repeatedly with the builder and maintenance agency.

According to residents, timely commissioning of the additional DG set and strengthening of the electrical backup infrastructure could have helped prevent the current situation from escalating.

Residents are now demanding that the builder and maintenance agency take immediate corrective measures and ensure adequate power backup and electrical infrastructure so that essential services are not repeatedly disrupted during future NPCL outages.

The residents are also seeking accountability for the delay in commissioning the fourth DG set and a permanent solution to the society’s recurring power-related problems.
