Noida: Expressing concern over the deteriorating sanitation system in the city, RWA Sector 105 President Divya Krishnatreya has urged the Noida Authority and local public representatives to immediately restore the Public Health Department, saying the move is essential to maintain Noida’s reputation as one of India’s cleanest cities.
Krishnatreya said that Noida belongs to all its residents and maintaining its cleanliness is a shared responsibility. However, after the Public Health Department was dissolved, the city’s sanitation management has been facing significant challenges, affecting the overall cleanliness of the urban areas.
According to him, the dedicated Public Health Department once played a key role in ensuring that Noida consistently ranked among the country’s cleanest cities. With its responsibilities now shifted to development work circles already burdened with infrastructure and civic projects, routine monitoring and sanitation management have suffered considerably.
He said restoring the department is not merely an administrative decision but a crucial step towards safeguarding public health, protecting the environment and preserving Noida’s image as a clean and well-maintained city.
Krishnatreya also pointed out that several Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), along with the Federation of Noida Resident Welfare Associations (FONRWA), have repeatedly raised the issue through letters and direct representations before the authorities, expressing concern over the city’s declining sanitation standards.
Appealing to elected representatives and senior officials of the Noida Authority, the RWA Sector 105 president urged them to take immediate cognisance of the matter and restore the Public Health Department in the larger public interest.
He expressed confidence that the administration would give due consideration to the demand and take a positive decision at the earliest, enabling Noida to regain its position among India’s cleanest cities.
