Basements turn into ponds, cars submerged, water enters lifts—Noida societies in distress

Noida Societies News: Persistent rainfall across Delhi-NCR has caused severe waterlogging in several high-rise societies in Noida and Greater Noida. Basements began to resemble ponds, vehicles were submerged, and in some places, water even seeped into the elevators.

Severe waterlogging was observed in the basement of the Migsun Twins Society in Greater Noida’s Eta-2 sector. The accumulation of water posed a risk of damage to the vehicles parked there. Local residents state that this situation arises every monsoon, yet no permanent solution has been implemented so far.

Road Outside Arihant Garden Turns into a Pond

The main road outside the Arihant Garden society in Greater Noida West was completely submerged in water. Overflowing drains caused water to accumulate to a depth of several feet on the road, disrupting vehicular movement. Residents state that the area’s drainage system fails completely as soon as it starts raining.

Waterlogging in Silicon City Parking

The basement parking of Silicon City Society in Noida Sector-76 also became flooded. Vehicle owners faced significant difficulties due to the water entering the parking area. Several residents shared videos of the waterlogging on social media and demanded a better drainage system.

Conditions Worsen in Sectors 100 and 143

Waterlogging was observed on the roads near the Gulshan Ikebana Society in Noida’s Sector 100 and in the vicinity of Sector 143. Vehicle speeds slowed down in several areas, leading to traffic jams. Locals state that such conditions arise every year during the monsoon, yet no permanent solution to the problem is implemented.

Water Enters Lift at Amrapali Golf Homes

Shocking visuals have emerged from the Amrapali Golf Homes society in Greater Noida West. Rainwater seeped into the lift area, and a video capturing this incident is rapidly going viral on social media. Additionally, there have been reports of waterlogging in the basements and common areas of several other high-rise societies

Images emerging amidst the incessant rainfall have raised serious questions about the drainage systems in Noida and Greater Noida. Residents point out that despite being ‘hi-tech’ cities, the same problems recur every monsoon. They are now demanding that the authorities implement a permanent drainage system, ensure regular cleaning of drains, and take effective measures to prevent waterlogging
