Passport: There is good news for those wishing to get a passport. For the first time, the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Sahibabad will remain open on a Saturday—normally a non-working day. Under this special drive scheduled for July 11, 2026, applications for Tatkaal passports and Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) will be accepted.
The Regional Passport Office, Ghaziabad, has decided to organize this special event with the aim of making passport services easier and more accessible. This is expected to provide relief to those facing difficulties in securing timely appointments for passport-related services.
Passport Seva Kendra to Open Specially on Saturday
According to the Regional Passport Office, the Passport Seva Kendra located in Sahibabad will be specially opened on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
During this time, applications for passports under the ‘Tatkaal’ (urgent) category and for Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) will be accepted. This special drive, conducted on a day that is normally a holiday, is being launched with the aim of providing passport services to citizens more quickly
1,000 Applications for Tatkaal Passports to be Accepted
A total of 1,000 applications for Tatkaal category passports will be accepted during the special drive.
Additionally, 200 applications for Police Clearance Certificates (PCC) will be accepted.
This initiative is expected to benefit a large number of applicants who wish to obtain a Tatkaal passport or secure an early appointment for a PCC.
Campaign launched under Ministry of External Affairs directives
Regional Passport Officer Anuj Swarup stated that this special campaign is being conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
Its objective is to provide citizens with ‘Tatkaal’ passport and PCC services in a time-bound manner and to ensure early appointments.
Decision taken in view of rising demand for passport services
This step has been taken in response to the growing demand for passport services and the difficulties applicants face in securing appointments.
A higher volume of applications will be accepted through a special drive, which will help reduce the backlog and facilitate easier access to passport services for citizens.

The Regional Passport Officer has urged citizens to book their slots through the official website in a timely manner and complete the application process.
Applicants arriving directly at the Passport Seva Kendra without an appointment will not be able to avail the benefits of this special drive.
