Noida: A shocking incident has emerged from Sector 78 in Noida, where a 43-year-old software engineer was found dead in his apartment. The incident took place at Antriksh Golf View Society, triggering panic among residents. Police suspect suicide, citing preliminary findings.

The deceased has been identified as Anurag Niranjan, a native of Jalaun in Uttar Pradesh. He was employed with a semi-government railway-linked company. The incident occurred on Thursday morning.

Door broken open, Family finds him hanging

According to information, Anurag’s wife and son had stepped out for some work. When they returned, they found the door locked from the inside. Despite repeated knocking and ringing the bell, there was no response.

The maintenance staff was called, and the door was eventually broken open. Inside, the family was confronted with a devastating scene. Anurag was found hanging from the ceiling fan. His wife fainted on the spot, while his son was left in deep shock.

Emotional appeal in a suicide note

Police recovered a suicide note from the scene, which has left many deeply moved. In the note, Anurag apologised to his family and friends.

In a particularly heartbreaking line, he made a request to one of his close friends:
“After my death, please continue paying the EMI of my flat so that my family does not become homeless.”

The note highlights the severe emotional and financial distress he may have been facing.

Badminton kit rope used for hanging

Officials from Sector 113 Police Station, Noida, stated that prima facie, the case appears to be a suicide. It is reported that Anurag had brought a badminton kit with him and used a plastic rope or cord from the kit to prepare the noose.

Sole breadwinner, Family faces uncertainty

Anurag was the only earning member of his family. His sudden death has left his wife and son facing an uncertain future, both emotionally and financially. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem and are conducting a detailed investigation. No formal complaint has been filed by the family so far.

Rising concerns around mental health

This incident once again brings attention to the growing mental and financial stress in urban life. Experts stress the importance of timely support, open conversations and access to counselling to prevent such tragedies.
