Noida: A disruption in the supply of domestic LPG cylinders has led to a heavy rush at several gas agencies across Noida. Since early morning, a large number of residents gathered at LPG distribution centres to collect their cooking gas cylinders, resulting in long queues and a chaotic situation at many locations.
Residents said that due to the irregular supply of domestic LPG cylinders, several households have been facing difficulties in arranging cooking gas for the past few days. As soon as information spread that fresh stock had arrived at some agencies, people rushed to the distribution points to secure cylinders.
The sudden crowd also created management challenges for agency staff. At many locations, residents were seen standing in long lines outside the agencies waiting for their turn to receive cylinders.
Residents have expressed concern over the delay in supply and urged the concerned gas agencies and authorities to ensure regular availability of LPG cylinders so that households do not face inconvenience in their daily cooking needs.
A sense of fear is gradually developing among residents in Alpha 2 Sector due to the unavailability of LPG cylinders. The concern over not getting cooking gas is increasing day by day. Residents have started rushing to the market to purchase electric heaters, believing that at least they will be able to cook simple meals like rice and lentils using them. The growing uncertainty has created anxiety among households. If the problem continues to worsen, it could lead to panic in the city and people may even start returning to their villages. Therefore, the government should take immediate notice of the situation and ensure proper supply of LPG cylinders.
