Greater Noida West: Tension prevailed at Amrapali Golf Homes and Kingswood Court society after four members of a family were trapped inside a lift for nearly 30 minutes on Sunday. The incident led to protests by residents, who accused the management of negligence and poor maintenance.
Lift stalls midway between floors
The incident reportedly took place in one of the towers when a family was heading from their apartment to the ground floor. The lift suddenly stopped between floors and the door failed to open. The four people trapped inside included an elderly woman, a nine-year-old child and two women. Residents said the family repeatedly pressed the alarm button, but help did not arrive immediately.
The lift got stuck midway and the door would not open. The family kept calling for help but there was no prompt response.

Residents protest against management
Following the rescue, several residents gathered outside the tower and raised slogans against the society management. They alleged that lift maintenance has been a recurring issue.
This is not the first breakdown. We have complained many times about malfunctioning lifts, but nothing concrete has been done.
