Greater Noida: Greater Noida is known as a planned and modern city where development works are expected to be carried out efficiently by the authority. However, the ground reality tells a different story. For a long time, residents and active citizens have been repeatedly complaining to senior officials of the Greater Noida Authority about broken and open drains, but these complaints have seemingly fallen on deaf ears.
One such dangerously broken drain is located on the road connecting Delta-3 to LG Road. What makes the situation even more alarming is that this stretch also houses the Officers’ Colony, where several senior authority officials, including the CEO, ACEO, OSD and other top officers, reside. If such poor infrastructure conditions exist in the immediate surroundings of senior officials, one can only imagine the state of the rest of the city.

There is a well-known saying, “Darkness prevails under the lamp itself”, and unfortunately, this proverb appears to fit the functioning of the Greater Noida Authority in this case. Despite being aware of the issue, no concrete action has been taken to repair the broken drain or cover it with proper slabs.
Open and damaged drains pose a serious threat to public safety. There is a constant risk of accidents involving pedestrians, vehicles and even stray cattle. Any unfortunate incident can occur at any time if immediate corrective measures are not taken.
The Active Citizen Team has once again urged the Greater Noida Authority to take prompt action and ensure that the broken drains are repaired and covered at the earliest. This step is crucial to prevent accidents and to ensure the safety of residents and animals alike.
The responsibility of maintaining a safe and well-planned city lies with the authority, and citizens hope that this long-pending issue will finally receive the attention it deserves.
