Greater Noida West : A long-standing controversy surrounding the Apartment Owners’ Association (AoA) of Galaxy Vega Apartments in Noida has finally reached a decisive stage. It is pertinent to note that the tenure of the Galaxy Vega Apartment Owners’ Association ended on January 7, 2025. Despite this, the AoA office bearers continued to hold their positions for nearly a year without conducting elections, an act that is clearly not in accordance with the law.
According to sources, the office bearers adopted several unfair practices to remain in power illegally. The election process was repeatedly delayed, even after receiving clear directions from the Registrar’s office to conduct elections. Throughout this extended period, not a single Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held. Moreover, agreements allegedly benefiting the builder were signed without obtaining the consent of the residents.
The situation escalated when a group of vigilant residents united and began raising objections against these irregularities. Although their efforts eventually led to the initiation of the election process, serious discrepancies emerged at this stage as well. It is alleged that the AoA deliberately removed the names of 222 eligible residents from the society’s voter list. Attempts were also made to mislead officials appointed by the Registrar.
Despite these obstacles, the residents continued their sustained efforts and brought the true facts to the notice of the Election Officer. After nearly two months of persistent follow-up, it was established before the Election Officer that the names of 222 residents had been illegally deleted from the voter list.
Following the restoration of these 222 names, the formal announcement of the election process in the society became possible. The AoA elections at Galaxy Vega Apartments are now scheduled to be held on December 21, 2025.
With their names reinstated in the voter list, residents have expressed relief and renewed confidence. There is a palpable sense of enthusiasm within the society as residents prepare to participate actively in the upcoming elections.
