Noida : In light of the recent revelations by the Gujarat ATS, serious security concerns have emerged. The investigation exposed a plot by anti-national elements allegedly planning to use ricin, an extremely lethal chemical toxin with potential threats to several cities. Given this alarming development, citizens have urged authorities to tighten the security of public water sources, pumping stations, and residential water tanks on an urgent basis.
In a letter addressed to officials, a concerned citizen wrote:
Our water supply infrastructure must be safeguarded against any external threat. All major water pumping stations should undergo immediate and regular security reviews to prevent unauthorized access. Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) are directed to ensure the security of underground and overhead water tanks within their societies. These tanks should remain locked and under regular supervision at all times.
Such preventive measures are vital not only to maintain water purity but also to protect citizens from any potential security threat.
Key Recommendations:
Conduct comprehensive security reviews of all public water pumping stations.
Issue strict guidelines to RWAs to secure and monitor water tanks within residential premises.
Ensure CCTV surveillance, access control, and on-site security personnel at sensitive points.
This appeal calls upon all administrative and security agencies to act swiftly and ensure the safety and health of citizens by fortifying the city’s water supply infrastructure.
