Noida: Following Supreme Court directives, Noida Police have designated five locations for the sale of green crackers. Two locations each are in Noida and Greater Noida zones, while Central Noida has one site. Stalls will be set up from Saturday onwards for people to purchase eco-friendly crackers.
Sale locations
Noida Zone: Ramleela Grounds, Sector-62 and Sector-46
Central Noida Zone: Kabaddi Ground near Garhi Gol Chakkar
Greater Noida Zone: Ramleela Ground in Beta-2 and Agrasen Inter College Ground, Dadri
Only temporary license holders allowed
Only vendors with temporary licenses issued by authorities are permitted to sell crackers at these designated sites. Any sale or storage outside these locations will result in strict action.
Strict safety measures
Fire trucks and more than 30 firefighters will be deployed at all sales points to ensure safety. Authorities have stated that security arrangements are being continuously monitored to prevent any untoward incidents.
Crackers use timing
Residents are allowed to burst crackers only on 19th and 20th October during the following time slots:
Morning: 6:00 – 7:00 AM
Evening: 8:00 – 10:00 PM
Illegal crackers seized, one arrested
Police at Dankaur caught a vendor selling prohibited crackers. Approximately ₹2 lakh worth of illegal crackers were seized. The accused has been identified as Trilok Chand, a resident of Nai Basti. Deputy Police Commissioner Rajiv Narayan Mishra emphasized that only the sale and use of Supreme Court-approved green crackers is allowed. Fire safety measures are in place at all sales locations.
