
Noida : The JVCC Laughter Club, in collaboration with Goonj, inaugurated a special Daan Utsav collection camp at the Sector 21 Community Centre near Bal Bharti School, Noida. The initiative is part of the nationwide India Giving Week, also known as The Joy of Giving Week, celebrated as one of India’s largest festivals of giving.
The programme began at 9:15 AM with the arrival of JLC members and donors, followed by the participation of Goonj representatives and members of the JVCC Managing Committee. The JVCC President arrived at 9:28 AM, after which the ceremonial Shankh Dawani by members set the spiritual tone for the event.
At 9:33 AM, Mahajan formally welcomed the gathering, leading into the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony at 9:35 AM. Goonj representatives then gave a detailed presentation on their work at 9:40 AM, highlighting the urgent need for community-driven support in flood and rain-affected areas across India.
The official inauguration of the collection camp was conducted at 9:50 AM by the JVCC President, who also addressed the gathering, emphasizing the spirit of sharing and compassion during times of crisis. The event concluded with a laughter yoga session and a heartfelt vote of thanks.
This year’s Daan Utsav holds special significance, as many parts of India continue to grapple with heavy rains and floods, leaving families homeless and struggling for basic necessities. Through this drive, the JVCC Laughter Club and Goonj are working to collect essential relief material for affected communities.

- Raincoats, clothes for all age groups
- Torches, batteries
- Monetary contributions
The collection camp will remain open on October 3 and 4, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Residents are encouraged to participate and contribute, turning small acts of kindness into a large wave of relief for those in need.
