Greater Noida West: More than 100 vigilant residents of Galaxy Vega Society gathered this morning at the amphitheatre to hold a collective meeting where they raised serious objections against the Apartment Owners Association (AOA) and its office bearers. The residents unanimously alleged a lack of transparency, arbitrary decision-making, and actions that were contrary to the community’s interests.

Office bearers under question

Residents expressed dissatisfaction with the current AOA team, whose tenure they claimed expired in January 2025. The names of office bearers questioned included:

  • Sanjay Saraswat – President
  • Ravindra Sharma – Vice President
  • S. N. Jha – Secretary
  • Mukul Sharma – Treasurer
  • Amit Srivastava – Member

Key Resolutions Passed During the Meeting

  1. Rejection of Builder Dues:
Residents strongly opposed the AOA’s move to add builder dues to individual maintenance balances without convening a General Body Meeting (GBM) or seeking resident consent. Terming it unacceptable, they resolved to challenge the matter in court.
  2. Agreement with Builder Declared Invalid:
It was pointed out that the AOA’s tenure ended on January 7, 2025, while the agreement with the builder was signed in March 2025. Residents unanimously declared this agreement null and void, stating that a lapsed AOA cannot legally enter into contracts.
  3. Separation of Electricity and Maintenance Charges:
The meeting clarified that there is no legal provision to club maintenance charges with electricity bills. Any attempt to enforce this practice would be firmly opposed by the residents.
  4. Water Bill Dispute:
Residents highlighted that pending water dues had already been adjusted in maintenance bills. Any attempt to re-collect them was termed illegal and unjustified.
  5. Lack of Transparency in Notices:
The AOA was accused of withholding crucial notices received from various authorities, such as the health department, the sanitation department, and the Deputy Registrar’s office. Residents claimed that suppressing such information was clear evidence of the AOA’s poor governance and lack of transparency.
  6. Decision on Current Maintenance:
The gathering resolved that if no communication or directive regarding elections is issued by the Deputy Registrar’s office by August 31, 2025, residents would decide the future course of action in their next meeting scheduled for September.
It was further noted that over 150 residents have already stopped paying maintenance charges in protest.

Conclusion

The meeting concluded with residents unanimously criticising the AOA’s functioning as non-transparent and against community interests. The gathering ended with a note of gratitude, appreciating the solidarity and participation of all residents.
