Noida: Raising concerns over the Greater Noida Authority’s plot scheme for private hospitals, the Active Citizen Team met Noida MLA Pankaj Singh submitted a memorandum today urging that these plots be reserved instead for the construction of government hospitals.

The delegation included Alok Singh, Harendra Bhati, Ramesh Chandani, and Ashish Sharma. They expressed strong objections to the current scheme, which proposes allocating land to private healthcare providers, and called for its cancellation in the public interest.

According to the team, affordable and accessible healthcare is a basic necessity, especially for the lower-income and middle-class sections of society. In today’s economic scenario, the high cost of treatment at private hospitals puts a huge burden on the common people.

Key Demands in the Memorandum:

  • The current plot scheme for private hospitals should be cancelled.
  • Government hospitals should be constructed on those plots instead.
  • Affordable and quality healthcare must be ensured for all, particularly the economically weaker sections.

The team emphasised that if 90% of hospitals become private, the general public will be left with few options. They appealed to elected representatives to intervene and prioritise public healthcare infrastructure.

MLA Pankaj Singh listened to their concerns and assured the delegation that the matter would be taken up with the concerned authorities and government departments.
