During this time, wherever cleaning will be done, the water supply may be affected for some time, but do not panic – the authority has also made arrangements for tankers and released helpline numbers so that no citizen is troubled by lack of water.
Why are the tanks being cleaned?
Greater Noida Authority’s General Manager of the Project Mr. A.K. Singh clarified that the cleaning of underground reservoirs had already started, now it is the turn of overhead tanks. Silt, algae, fungus or other bacterial deposits in these tanks can have a bad effect on the quality of water, which can cause problems like diarrhoea, stomach diseases and skin infections.
Therefore, this cleaning campaign is not just a routine process, but an important decision related to the health of the citizens.
