Noida: After the scorching heat, now the rain has brought relief. People are feeling relieved from the heat, but after the rain, a disaster-like situation has arisen in many areas of Noida. In many areas, waterlogging has occurred due to the lack of a proper drainage system after the rain. Not only this, many roads have turned into ponds.

Traffic has slowed down due to water accumulation on many main roads. Water has filled many posh sectors of Noida, which has raised questions about the working style of the authority.

As soon as you enter Noida from Delhi, Sector 16 comes first and then Sector 14. Sector 14 is one of the oldest sectors and many retired Chief Justices of India, many senior IAS and IPS officers and big businessmen live here. As soon as it rained for some time in the early morning today, the roads were filled with water. Complaints of water entering the houses of some people have also come to the fore.

Sneha Sharma, Resident of Sector 14 says, “Every rainy season, these roads become ponds and complaints are made. But no action is taken by the authority. Water enters our houses and vehicles which is hard to manage. This is considered to be one of the posh sectors of Noida, if the condition here is like this then one can imagine the condition of other areas.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Authority, Lokesh M, is continuously visiting different places and inspecting the cleanliness along with the drainage system. He had instructed the officers and employees to ensure that water does not accumulate during the rains.

There is a lot of water filled in front of Bishanpur village on the dividing road of Sector 57 and 58 and the residents have to pass through this dirty water.

The way the roads are getting filled with water after a little rain, is an indication that the Authority is sitting with its eyes closed and the cleaning of the drains has not even started.

If the drains had been cleaned on time, this plight would not have happened today.

The Authority should immediately take action and get the drains cleaned by engaging more agencies.
