Severe cold: All schools will remain closed in Noida-Greater Noida till January 14, DM’s order brings relief to the parent community

Greater Noida: Given the severe cold and fog, all schools from nursery to class 8 in Noida-Greater Noida will remain closed till January 14. Given the severe cold and fog, District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma has extended the previously announced holidays in schools. As per the previously announced information, all the schools in the district from nursery to eighth class were closed till January 06. Now the holidays in all the schools affiliated to all the boards have been extended till January 14.

There doesn’t seem to be any hope of getting relief from the bone-chilling cold any time soon. Severe cold will continue in NCR and surrounding areas.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for two days in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Extreme cold conditions will continue in these areas.

Senior scientist of the Meteorological Department, RK Jenamani, said that during the next two days, there will be very dense fog in the night and morning hours in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Odisha. A similar situation will continue in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura for the next three days.

The weather department has predicted light to moderate rain and thundershowers over parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Lakshadweep and south coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 4 to 5 days.

Light to moderate rain is likely over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim for the next two days and Madhya Pradesh for the next five days. From the 8th of this month, there may be moderate rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region and the plains of northwest India.
