Greater Noida is not called the city of accidents for no reason. Accidents keep happening at various places every day. One has to think before stepping out of the house. This is the festive season, Diwali is here. Bursting of firecrackers is prohibited in high-rise society, hence it is obvious that the public will go out on the road, in the green belt, in the park to burst firecrackers and the open wires outside are inviting accidents.
Darkness under the lamp!
Right next to the new authority of Knowledge Park 4, the wires of the panel box are lying open and the box is not sealed. Harinder Bhati of the Active Citizen team shared the picture with Apartment Times and said that many panel boxes are lying open at various places. This is not just one. He said, “This is the condition of the city. When the authority people do not pay attention to the neighbourhood, then how will they take care of the city? These open panels are not just one, this is the condition of the entire city. These open wires are affecting many children. Have been the cause of death of cattle.”
Pinky, a resident of Greater Noida, says, “NPCL should see how many accidents have happened due to these bare wires. They don’t even have tape on them. Even after knowing all this, what can they do if everyone remains ignorant? NPCL can do anything. He is not doing it. If a child or animal gets burnt, who will take responsibility for it?”
When Sarnath Ganguly, General Manager (Operations) of NPCL was contacted in this lieu, he said, “We do not have any electrical panels in Knowledge Park. The panels will be street light panels. This work will be done by the Greater Noida Authority. When such complaints come we escalate the complaint to the authority.”

In this regard, when we talked to Gurvinder Singh, Senior Manager, Greater Noida Authority, he said that this work is of NPCL. When he was asked why this delay in toll was happening, he said, “I will get the check done tomorrow, this is the work of NPCL people only, I will write a letter to them.”
