Noida: The residents of Sector 100 are dynamic and love to walk, run, rest and play in the park just like any other fitness enthusiast and nature lover situated adjoining the century apartments. this park remains flooded with the residents from dust to dawn. Recently, a urinal block has been constructed there keeping the call of nature in mind.
Is it just an Urinal? Why worth mentioning?
Urinal is not a big thing why so hype? The hype is because this urinal is constructed with discarded items. Yes! 80% of the construction materials are used which were thrown out of the houses.
20,000 square meters of park and no washroom!
This park is the widest and biggest park in the sector where the residents from all the societies have a splendid time. Nature’s call is something which cannot be ignored, and due to this, people were forced to rush to their homes in no minutes as there was a big problem. Due to the absence of the urinal blocks, the elderly and women faced the most problems.
Built from scrap which was thrown out from the house
This urinal block is made from items which were of no use to anyone. Pawan Yadav, General Secretary, Century Apartment says, ” In our sector, some construction work keeps happening always. The material which remains after the construction esp the C and D waste either goes into the garbage or the scrap, we used that in the construction of the urinal block. This was planned so we kept collecting the junk kept outside and around the houses from the societies.”
he continues, ” From time to time, RWA makes something better from the old material of the society.”
Know what was used
80% of discarded items have been reused and recycled. The only things which were purchased are the pipeline fittings and the water storage tank.
Madan Sharma, President, Century Apartment says, ” While reconstructing the old broken drain in concrete, some brick debris was found and it was collected. During the work in the houses of the residents, Gravel, Badarpur, Sand, Cement, Tiles, Iron angles, Vases, Sheets, Old wooden doors, Washbasins, Commodes etc. were found. Each and everything was wonderfully and mindfully used in the construction of the urinal block.”
This is not the first time
Pawan Yadav is also the President of FONRWA mentions the importance of the Urinals and not the first time. he says, “This was a big necessity and now as they are constructed, we are satisfied. This is not the first time. Our RWA has made the urinals by using the scraps earlier too. Separate common toilets for men and women were built for the society’s employees, maids and cooks. A toilet was also built in the RWA office. In all these, mostly old items of the society were used.”
Noida Authority will be inaugurated soon
Soon it will be inaugurated by the officials of the Health Department of Noida Authority.
