Greater Noida West : In the past few months, there has been a daunting increase in the death rates caused due to sudden cardiac arrest. Earlier this was not that frequent but these days many people in the age group of 45-50 years have cardiac arrest. Be it at a wedding while dancing or when running on a treadmill. In the past few weeks, the age group of 18-20 years has also fallen prey to heart attacks and on-the-spot death and it is very shocking.

CPR can save life
Recent incidents of heart attacks are taking a toll on the lives of many young individuals which is quite concerning. Their lives could have been protected if they had been given prompt treatment by anyone present there at that time. Even today, not everyone is acquainted with the procedures to save someone’s life, that approach is called CPR.
A mission to save lives
To solve such problems, NEFOWA and AAV Group of Greater Noida West with its excellent team of experts have initiated a mission. A mission to save lives. Given the increasing cases of cardiac arrest in recent times, awareness camps have been started.
Workshops have been organized in different societies
To date, they have organised two workshops. The first session was conducted in Supertech Ecovillage 2 with the support of Heart experts of AAV group’s founder Dr Vivek Vaibhav where a large number of residents participated.

Abhishek Kumar, President, Nefowa says, ” Our dream is to make our GNW Healthy and Fit and this is our mission for a lifetime. We will continue to work towards it.”
Dr. Vivek, Head of AAV Group, says, ” This is a very good initiative and will try to reach as many societies of Greater Noida West as soon as possible.”
His vision is not only limited to Noida extension,He will be doing this in Noida and Greater noida also.

Comman man learnt about the techniques of CPR, BLS and ACLS
The other session was conducted on October 8, 2023, in the club premises of Cherry County Society of Greater Noida West. In the two-hour session, various techniques like CPR, BLS and ACLS were explained to the residents. This was a rich session full of experiments, narratives and case studies. Skilled experts explained and made them learn that whenever anything such happens, we can assist them, can give CPR while the ambulance reaches. This way we can save the precious life.
‘The government should also take the initiative to organise such camp‘
Mihir Gautam, who is playing an important role in organizing the camp appeals that the government should also take initiative for such camps in every school, business establishment and society.
He says, ” In recent times, cases of sudden cardiac arrest are being seen at such places as weddings or gyms. In such a situation, knowledge of CPR can play an important role in saving people’s lives. Even if we can save one life, our mission to save lives will be successful.”
How this idea came to start this mission
Mihir Gautam, the founder of this mission says,” This idea came to my mind last year. There was much news floating around about the sudden cardiac arrests in gyms, and in weddings. This one just attracted me. At a traffic signal, someone got cardiac arrest or at a metro station personal fall and CISF pumped him and the lives were saved, after extensive research I came to know that in Police and CISF it is mandatory to learn CPR. It is a part of the curriculum in 11th- 12th American classes. In developed countries, lives are saved by CPR.
Here in INDIA, people are taken to hospital. So this gave a thought that we should give training to the people living in societies, guard etc
What Is CPR
CPR stands for cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It can help save a life during cardiac arrest when the heart stops beating or beats too ineffectively to circulate blood to the brain and other vital organs. CPR, quite simply, can save lives.
Call the ambulance, but don’t keep waiting for it, give CPR!
After calling the ambulance, it can take some time for medical personnel to arrive on the scene. Following a cardiac arrest episode every second matters. If the person standing next to him knows CPR and helps him, his action can prove to be the difference between life and death.
There are 7 main steps of CPR
CPR is a relatively straightforward medical procedure that can be learned by anyone. Even those outside of the medical field can benefit from learning the important CPR steps. With proper training, anyone can gain the skills and confidence to save a life.
STEP 1: Call Ambulance
Before beginning the steps of CPR, call an ambulance or ask a bystander to call the medical emergency team immediately. CPR is intended to keep a victim stable until medical help arrives—it doesn’t cure cardiac arrest or any other medical condition.
STEP 2: Assess the scene of the emergency
After you call an ambulance, you should assess the scene. Assess the scene of the emergency and the condition of the victim to make sure that CPR will be the most effective procedure. Watching the chest fall will indicate if the victim is still unresponsive or is unable to regularly breathe because if their chest does not fall, you should immediately begin CPR.
STEP 3: Open the victim’s airway
To begin CPR, you need to position the victim. Lie the victim on their back and be careful if they experience any head or neck injury. With the victim lying flat on their back, tilt their head back and slightly lift their jaw. You should also check to see if there is an object obstructing their airway.
STEP 4: Check for breathing
After opening the airway, you should check to see if the victim is breathing. Lower your ear over your mouth and listen for about ten seconds. If you don’t hear or see any signs of breathing, immediately begin CPR. If the victim is occasionally gasping for air, you should still begin CPR. If the victim is unresponsive but breathing at a normal pace, you do not need to perform CPR but still need to check their breathing until the paramedics arrive.
STEP 5: 30 chest compressions
Now, you can begin the steps of CPR. Place one hand over the other to start chest compressions and interlock your fingers. Place your hands on the centre of the chest, just below the breastbone, straighten your arms, apply your whole body weight, and press firmly at least two inches deep with compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute. Allow the chest to rise between compressions.
STEP 6: Rescue breaths
Following chest compressions, you should begin giving rescue breaths. Ensure the airway is still open by tilting the head back and slightly lifting the chin. Also, ensure to shut the nose shut and place your mouth afterwards for rescue breaths. Make sure that their airway is open, and blow into the victim’s mouth. Give two rescue breaths and watch their chest to see if it rises to ensure that their airway is open. If not, you may need to reposition the airway.
STEP 7: REPEAT THE CYCLE
Continue the cycle of chest compressions and rescue breaths until professional medical assistance arrives. If someone else nearby is also trained in CPR, you can take turns to ensure that you don’t become worn out. Keep performing CPR until medical assistance hits the scene.
