Noida: Thousands of native trees are being cut illegally in the closed factory plant of DCM company located in Greater Noida. After this matter came to light, the employee union started protesting.

The famous environmentalist Vikrant Tongad raised the issue

Vikrant Tongad, who works in the district regarding the environment informed Apartment Times, “Thousands of trees standing in the company premises are being cut with a saw machine, while no permission has been taken from the forest department. In this regard, teams of forest department and police have reached the spot. After which the process of registering an FIR is going on.”

Order will be given to plant 10x trees

In this matter, a written complaint has been given to the Forest Department, Police Department, Authority and UPSIDA. The Forest Department has registered an H2 case and issued a notice. Soon the company will be fined and ordered to plant 10 times more trees than the trees cut. The written complaint by the DM has been forwarded to DFO Noida for appropriate action.

Vikrant Tongad says, “This incident has raised concerns in the area and underlined the need to increase sensitivity towards the environment. The authorities and concerned departments are expected to take strict action in this matter and take stringent steps to prevent such incidents in future.”
