Vidit Gujrathi: India's Rising Chess Grandmaster
Vidit Gujrathi is an Indian chess grandmaster born in 1994. He became India’s 30th GM in 2013 and is the fourth Indian to cross the 2700 Elo rating. He won the 2019 Biel Chess Festival, led India to gold in the 2020 Online Chess Olympiad, and secured a spot in the 2024 Candidates Tournament by winning the 2023 FIDE Grand Swiss. Known for his strategic play, he remains a top player representing India globally.
